I’m Paula Nahr

I look for those impacting the world with Art & Love who dared to live a life of purpose and service. I was born in Colombia, raised on the vibrant island of Aruba, and did my university studies in New York City because that was my dream. I funded the NGO Switch Foundation where I voiced the vulnerable through documentaries for about 11 years. With over a decade of experience as a producer, I've shed light on critical social issues like human trafficking, bullying, and domestic violence through documentaries in Aruba. At the end of 2020, I moved to Edinburgh, Scotland to pursue my passion for filmmaking. I'm offering my services at an exceptional price. This not only allows me to connect with amazing individuals but also supports fellow creatives and entrepreneurs, all while fueling my aspirations.

The Pandemic arrived and it was the catalyst to embark on this adventure and dare to go to a country where the creative industry and social entrepreneurship are already established. I want to learn about these topics and apply this knowledge to my projects.

I believe in the power of art to heal trauma, diminish social issues and bring more harmony to the world. After the explosion of Covid-19, I decided to start my personal projects by experimenting with short films, and photography.

…and will soon be developing a Podcast and a Blog where I will voice creatives and activists who use their Art and Voice to better their lives and their community.

My projects

My projects

I funded Switch Foundation in Aruba in 2011 which was supported by The Department of Culture with artistic resources and by the NGOs and government departments with research. We produced educational documentaries to prevent social issues and voice the vulnerable with topics such as domestic violence, bullying, youth pregnancy, HIV/AIDS, sugar daddies and human trafficking. The latter is False Promise, an international production available with Spanish and English subtitles. Help us save more victims of trafficking by sharing False Promise with English subtitles and Falsa Promesa en español.

Art has been the platform to present social messages, I saw in the productions the opportunity to give important messages and to capture people's attention authentically. I always felt the need to contribute to the community and a solution in some way, it was a feeling I’ve had since I was a child. The documentaries are accessible for free for the community, students, educators and social workers to use as audiovisual research.

Over time there was an incredible demand from NGOs that needed material like the one that Switch created, which wasn't even part of the original plan, but I saw it as an opportunity to continue contributing to more causes and created sustainable entrepreneurship called Nahr Media specialized in digital awareness campaigns and documentaries. I took care of the research, interviews, scripts, production, audio-recording, public relations, digital marketing campaigns strategies, creative team recruitment and talent and visual concepts for every documentary that presents the messages through artistic expressions.

Fast forward to 2020, The Pandemic. I decided to start the Podcast  I have something to tell you while I was still living in Aruba to be free to move and give a voice to creatives and social entrepreneurs around the world. Those who dared to live a life of purpose and service. Be pending for it.
